Unemployment rises in South Korea in June

Unemployment in South Korea rose to 2.6 percent in June.

South Korea’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose slightly to 2.6 percent in June after hitting a record low of 2.5 percent in May.

In June, unemployment decreased by 0.4 points compared to the same period of the previous year and became 763 thousand people.

Data from the country’s statistics department showed South Korea’s employment-to-population ratio was 63.5 percent, up 0.6 percentage points year on year in June.
