Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamed Al Sani and Prime Minister of Japan Kishida Fumio announced that the relations between the two countries have been upgraded to the level of strategic partnership.
According to the news in the official Qatari agency QNA, the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim wished for the further development and growth of relations between the two countries during his meeting with Kishida.
Emphasizing the importance of the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Kishida and his accompanying delegation to Qatar for relations, Emir Temim stated that they also discussed issues related to coordination in order to improve cooperation in all fields.
Sheikh Tamim said that such meetings and mutual visits between the two sides will continue and that Qatar and Japan will increase bilateral coordination and consultation on various issues and fields of common importance.
Expressing his satisfaction that the bilateral relations between Qatar and Japan have been raised to the level of strategic partnership, the Emir of Qatar also added that there will be growth between the two countries in many fields, especially in energy.
Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized the importance of Qatari-Japanese diplomatic relations.
Kishida expressed his satisfaction with the raising of the relations to the level of strategic partnership in order to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in energy, economy, defense and security.
Stating that they aim to raise the relations to higher levels in the next 50 years, Kisida said that in the talks, besides reviewing the possibilities of cooperation in various sectors, the existing cooperation relations between the two countries, especially in the fields of economy and energy, were discussed.
The leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues.
After his contacts in Saudi Arabia, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida, who went to the UAE yesterday, completed his Middle East tour with a visit to Qatar.
