US construction spending increased in June

Construction spending in the US rose 0.5 percent in June, below market expectations.

The US Department of Commerce released construction spending data for June.

Accordingly, the construction expenditures in the country, adjusted for seasonal effects, increased by 0.5 percent compared to the previous month and amounted to 1 trillion 938.4 billion dollars.

The data, which came below the market expectations, was expected to increase by 0.6 percent in this period. Construction expenditures had also increased by 1.1 percent in May.

In June, public construction expenditures increased by 0.3 percent and private sector construction expenditures increased by 0.5 percent.

Construction expenditures also increased by 3.5 percent year-on-year in June.
