Unemployment benefit applications, which exceeded market expectations, were expected to be realized at the level of 245 thousand in this period.
The previous week’s data on unemployment benefits applications was revised from 239 thousand to 236 thousand.
As of last week, 4-week average unemployment benefits applications decreased by 3 thousand 500 people compared to the previous week and fell to 253 thousand 250.
While ongoing unemployment claims fell to 1 million 720 thousand with a decrease of 13 thousand in the week ending June 24, it fell to its lowest value since January.
