According to sources familiar with the matter, US President Joe Biden will announce tariffs targeting China’s critical sectors.
While new tariffs are expected to be announced for electric vehicles, batteries and solar panel cells originating from China, existing tariffs will be largely maintained.
Although there is a possibility that the decision will be postponed, if it happens, it will be one of Biden’s biggest moves against China.
Last month, Biden called for increasing tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum and requested a new investigation into the Chinese shipbuilding industry.
