US President Joe Biden announced that more than $42 billion in new resources will be provided to expand high-speed internet access nationwide.

Speaking at the White House on infrastructure policies, Biden said that everyone in America will benefit from affordable high-speed internet service by 2030.

Pointing out that the biggest investment ever will be made for high-speed internet, Biden noted that high-speed internet is no longer a luxury, it has become a necessity.

In the statement made by the White House on the subject, it was stated that resources will be provided for high-speed internet infrastructure for each state and region through the Broadband Access and Distribution program, and this is a $42.5 billion grant program managed by the US Department of Commerce.

It was stated in the statement that each state will receive at least 107 million dollars under the program, and more than 1 billion dollars will be provided to 19 states. Texas will be first with $3.1 billion, while California will be the second most resourced state with $1.9 billion.

In the statement, it was emphasized that together with the said resource and other investments by the Biden administration, every state and region in the USA will have access to affordable high-speed internet by 2030.

In the White House statement, the Biden administration’s new program has been likened to the Franklin Roosevelt administration’s attempt to bring electricity to every home in the United States, with the law passed in 1936.
