Biden announced the contents of the support package to Ukraine

The White House announced the content of the first military aid to be given to Ukraine from the $95 billion foreign aid package signed by US President Joe Biden.

“Today, the United States is announcing a significant new arms and equipment package to Ukraine in support of the brave Ukrainian people defending their country and freedom against Russian aggression,” the White House said in a written statement. The statement was included.

It was announced that the value of this first aid shipment, announced within the $61 billion section allocated to Ukraine from the $95 billion foreign aid package approved by US President Joe Biden last night, will reach $1 billion.

It was stated that the aid package included urgently needed military materials such as air defense missiles, high mobility artillery rocket system (HIMARS) ammunition, artillery shells, armored vehicles, precision air ammunition, and anti-tank weapons. It was also noted that the package included light weapons, equipment and spare parts.

On the other hand, the US Department of Defense stated in a written statement that with the new aid package, US President Biden and his government will have sent aid to Ukraine for the 56th time from the Ministry of Defense inventories since August 2021.

The Ministry shared the information that the 1 billion dollar military aid includes special ammunition such as 155 millimeter artillery shells, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank guns, guided TOW missiles, mine-resistant MRAP and Bradley armored vehicles, and Stinger low-altitude air defense missiles.
