The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has tentatively approved the US-based technology company Broadcom’s acquisition of software company VMware for $69 billion.
According to the statement made by the CMA, it was concluded that Broadcom’s acquisition of WMware would not adversely affect the competitive conditions in the market.
Upon finding that the merger would not harm industry innovation, the CMA provisionally approved Broadcom’s acquisition of WMware for $69 billion.
CMA is expected to announce its final decision on the merger on September 12, 2023.
