Inflation in Germany slowed down in July

According to the data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) in Germany, annual inflation was measured as 6.2 percent in July, in line with the expectations.

Germany’s Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) announced the leading data on price increases for July. Accordingly, Germany’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 6.2 percent on an annual basis in July, in line with the expectations.

In the previous month, inflation in the country was 6.4 percent on an annual basis.

Inflation in Germany was measured as 0.3 percent on a monthly basis in July.

Core inflation in the country, on the other hand, dropped to 5.5 percent on an annual basis in July. Core inflation was 5.8 percent in the previous month.

In the statement of the Statistics Office, it was stated that food prices in the country increased by 11 percent on an annual basis in July.

The increase in food prices in the country was recorded as 13.7 percent on an annual basis in the previous month.
