The European Union (EU) and the UK have launched a study to increase the education, employment and residence opportunities of the young population.

According to the written statement made by the EU Commission, the Commission proposed to the EU Council to initiate negotiations to increase the mobility between young people in the UK and EU countries, which has decreased after Brexit.

If the proposal is accepted by the Council, the Commission will have the power to open negotiations on youth mobility with the UK.

Thus, it will be easier for young people in EU countries to have education, work and residence rights in the UK, and for young people in the UK to have education, work and residence rights in the EU.

According to the proposed agreement, EU and UK citizens aged 18 to 30 will be able to stay in the destination country for up to 4 years.

Making a statement to the press at the end of the two-day EU summit in Brussels, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that there are many areas in which we can work with the UK after Brexit, and the mobility of young people is one of them.
