China: We cannot remain indifferent to chip sanctions

China’s Ambassador to Washington, Shie Fıng, warned that the US could retaliate against China’s national security measures that specifically target the chip industry and investments.

China’s Ambassador to Washington, Şie Fıng, evaluated the US’s steps towards China and the relations between the two countries in his speech at the Aspen Security Forum held in Colorado, USA.

Stating that China cannot remain silent while the US imposes export controls and sanctions on China, including chips, Shie warned, “China cannot stand by without moving a finger. We will not provocate, but we will not be afraid of provocations. So China will give the necessary response.” .

Emphasizing that China does not approach the US’s steps with the principle of “tit-for-tat”, Shie said, “We do not want a trade or technology war. We want to say goodbye to the iron curtain and the silicon curtain.”

When asked about the whereabouts of China’s Foreign Minister, China Gang, who had not appeared in public for a while, Xie only replied, “Thanks for your consideration.”

Chip tension between China and USA
In the news in the American media, it was stated that the US Department of Commerce may take action this month to stop the shipment of chips made by Nvidia and other chip manufacturers to customers in China and other related countries without prior license.
