Threads has 100 million members

The number of people who signed up for Threads, the new social media platform that rivals Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp’s Meta’s Twitter, reached 100 million in less than 5 days.

Threads, which started to be available on the App Store and Google Play Store in 100 countries on July 5, reached a record level of users in a short time.

Threads became the new owner of the record broken by Open AI’s Chat GPT application.

The application is not yet available in the Union countries due to the data privacy legislation of the European Union (EU).

Threads was launched on Wednesday.
Meta launched the new social media platform Threads, a rival to Twitter, on July 5th.
In a statement about Threads, whose interface is similar to Twitter, Meta reported that Threads is a new application created by the Instagram team to share text content and participate in public chats.
Twitter threatened to sue Meta over Threads
While Threads attracted great interest after its launch, Twitter warned of taking legal action against Meta because of Threads.
In a letter to Zuckerberg, Twitter’s attorney, Alex Spiro, expressed serious concern that Meta was systematically, deliberately and illegally misusing Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.
Pointing out that Meta hired former Twitter employees last year, Spiro claimed that the company deliberately commissioned these employees to develop Meta’s “emulated” Threads application within a few months.
Twitter owner Elon Musk also shared on Twitter, “Competition is good, not cheating.” had evaluated.
Meta’s Director of Communications Andy Stone, in response to Twitter’s lawyer’s letter, stated that no one on Threads’ engineering team is a former Twitter employee.
