Tesla is preparing for layoffs

It was stated that the ongoing layoffs at electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla are expected to continue until June.

More than a month after Tesla CEO Elon Musk‘s plans to lay off at least 10 percent of the company, a new move came from Musk.

According to Reuters, based on sources familiar with the matter, the ongoing layoffs at Tesla are expected to continue until June.

Former Tesla Sales Representative Michael Minick, who was fired in April, said in a statement on LinkedIn: “We walk on edge at work every day, not sure if you can pay your bills.”

Tesla’s workforce has undergone a dramatic transformation in the last few years. The company, which once had a wild vision for clean energy in Silicon Valley, is now focused on other ventures in Texas, including artificial intelligence and robotics. On the other hand, it was stated that Musk’s prioritization of robotaxi caused morale among employees.

The wave of layoffs, which has already reached thousands of departments, including sales, human resources and almost the entire Supercharger division, is expected to affect a significant part of Tesla, which started the year with more than 140 thousand employees.

Musk had pushed for a 20 percent reduction in staff numbers.
