Intel chooses Poland for new chip factory

Chip maker Intel said in a statement that as part of the company’s €80 billion investment plan in the R&D and manufacturing of semiconductors within the borders of the European Union (EU), it will develop a 4.6 billion euro semiconductor assembly and test facility near Wrocaw, Poland. billion-dollar investment.

The new factory in Poland plans to start operating in 2027 and employ 2,000 people. The factory will create several thousand jobs during construction and in the supply chain.

The statement did not provide information about the amount of the Polish government’s incentive for the factory in question.

The company announced in September 2021 that it could invest up to 80 billion euros in Europe over the next 10 years.

Meanwhile, Intel plans to build a large chip factory in Germany alongside its facilities in Ireland and France.

Intel is expected to receive approximately 10 billion euros from the German government for the chip factory to be established in Magdeburg, East Germany. 7 thousand people will be employed during the construction of the factory and 3 thousand people will be employed when the factory is completed.
