Huge order between China and Airbus

It was stated that European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is in negotiations to sell more than 100 wide-body aircraft to China.

It was noted that Airbus SE was negotiating the sale of a large A330neo aircraft to China, and the talks have gained momentum since President Xi Jinping visited his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron last month. China’s largest airlines plan to purchase more than 100 of the upgraded A330 models, Bloomberg reported, citing close sources. The terms are still being discussed and the timing is uncertain, said the people, who asked not to be named because the matter is confidential.

Negotiations between Airbus and Boeing Co over doing business in China’s critical aviation market. It underlines the increasingly sharp conflict between them.

Meanwhile, France-based Airbus is benefiting from local investment in Asia’s largest economy, including a factory producing the A320neo model and a factory installing the A330 interiors.

Airbus also produces the more advanced and longer-range A350 model, which received so many orders in the last few years that it was almost sold out by the end of the decade. Currently, Airbus has 165 outstanding orders for the A330neo, which made its commercial debut in 2018.

While an Airbus spokesman declined to comment on the issue, Air China Ltd., China Southern Airlines Co. and China Eastern Airlines Corp. also did not respond to requests for comment.
