Amazon allocates $120 million to Starlink rival satellite project

American e-commerce giant Amazon is building a $120 million facility in Florida for the Kuiper satellite project. The company is nearing the end for its Project Kuiper satellite internet project, which will be a Starlink competitor.

This project aims to provide high-speed internet access anywhere in the world with a satellite network in Earth orbit. The company aims to provide broadband service to regions where low-cost antennas and communication technologies cannot serve or are insufficient.

Amazon is preparing to launch the first batch of Project Kuiper prototype satellites in 2024. The statement made by the company states that the construction of the new facility is currently underway.

Amazon plans to begin satellite production at its Kirkland, Washington-based facility later this year. The new facility in Florida will complete these satellites and final checks. Amazon plans to launch a constellation of high-speed internet satellites from SpaceX’s Starlink into Earth orbit with Kuiper.
