$7.8 billion cloud investment from Amazon

US e-commerce giant Amazon’s cloud unit AWS has announced that it will invest $ 7.8 billion to expand its data center operations. Amazon announced in January that it plans to invest $35 billion to build multiple data centers in the state of Virginia by 2040.

US e-commerce giant Amazon’s Web Services unit (AWS) announced that it will invest $7.8 billion in Ohio to expand its data center operations.

In the statement made by Amazon, it was reminded that its cloud unit AWS started establishing data centers in Ohio about 10 years ago.

Pointing out that AWS has invested $6.3 billion annually supporting more than 3,500 full-time jobs in Ohio since 2015, it was emphasized that Amazon is among the largest private sector employees in Ohio.

An estimated $7.8 billion will be invested through 2030 to expand data center operations in Ohio, the additional investment will provide hundreds of direct jobs and support thousands of additional jobs in local businesses through construction, operations and on-site maintenance at AWS facilities.

Amazon also announced in January that AWS plans to invest an additional $35 billion in the state by 2040 to build multiple data center campuses in new locations in Virginia.
