The number of job vacancies in the USA dropped to the lowest level in 3 years

The number of JOLTS job openings in the USA decreased to 8 million 488 thousand in March, recording its lowest level since February 2021.

The US Department of Labor announced JOLTS job vacancy data for March.

Accordingly, the number of open jobs in the country decreased by 325 thousand in March compared to the previous month, falling to 8 million 488 thousand.

The number of open jobs, which recorded its lowest level since February 2021, was expected to be 8 million 680 thousand in this period.

The number of vacant jobs, which was below expectations, was 8 million 813 thousand in February.

During this period, job openings increased in the state and local government education sector and decreased in the construction and finance and insurance sectors.

The number of hires decreased by 281 thousand in the same period, falling to 5 million 500 thousand.

The number of people who left their jobs, including resignations and dismissals, in the country decreased by 339 thousand to 5 million 200 thousand in the said period.
