Service sector activity grows in China

Service sector activity in China posted growth in July from business activity, which rose solidly across the industry.

China’s service sector activity posted stronger growth in July, according to the Caixin survey compiled by S&P Global.

The services sector purchasing managers index came in at 54.1, up slightly from 53.9 in June.

The survey report explained that stronger growth was driven by business activity, which increased solidly across the industry overall.

This was also supported by a “significant and accelerated” increase in overall new business, which encouraged firms to increase their payroll numbers for the sixth month in a row.
