South Korea’s economy grew by 0.9 percent in the second quarter

South Korea’s GDP grew by 0.9 percent in the first quarter of 2023.

South Korea’s gross domestic product grew by 0.9 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2023, according to leading data released by the South Korean Central Bank (BoK).

Economists’ expectation was that the growth would come at the level of 0.8 percent.

On a quarterly basis, after 0.3 percent growth in the first quarter, it grew 0.6 percent in the second quarter, recording the largest quarterly growth seen since the second quarter of 2022. The market expectation was that the increase would be 0.5 percent.
