British PM Sunak: We will slightly increase visa fees

Announcing the hike decisions for public employees in the UK, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that visa fees and health payments paid by immigrants when obtaining visas will be increased.

Sunak, at the press conference where he announced the raise decisions for public employees, stated that they accepted the raise rate recommended by a board of experts.

In this context, Sunak stated that 7 percent increase was given to the police, 6,5 percent to the teachers and 6 percent to the general practitioners, and that the teachers who could not agree with the government on the increase this year suspended their strike decisions with the new proposal.

Asking other unions that decided to go on strike, Sunak said, “The strikes not only cause thousands of appointments to be canceled, but also lengthen waiting times in hospitals. This is our final offer. There will be no more raise negotiations. This year’s payments are about “We will not hold further talks. No strike can change our decision any longer.” used the phrases.

Answering the question of where the money that is not in the budget will come from, Sunak said, “I am not preparing to make a tax hike.” said.

Noting that the health insurance fees paid by the immigrants coming to the country will be increased, Sunak said, “We will increase the visa fees a little. We will also increase the health payments paid by the immigrants who come to our country legally. Those who benefit from health services have to make a payment here. Both payments have not been increased recently.” he said.

Prime Minister Sunak also suggested that billions of pounds will enter the safe with the increase in visa fees and health payments of immigrants.
