Australia appoints Michele Bullock as new central bank governor.
The Australian Treasury said Friday it has appointed Michele Bullock, vice-president of the Reserve Bank of Australia, as the new central bank governor.
Bullock replaces incumbent Philip Lowe, whose term expires on August 17. Treasurer Jim Chalmers described Bullock’s appointment as “the optimal balance between providing outstanding experience and expertise and offering a new leadership perspective”.
