Monthly inflation series in Istanbul continued in June

Retail prices increased by 3.46 percent and wholesale prices increased by 4.32 percent in Istanbul in June compared to the previous month.

According to the 1995 data of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), the Istanbul Wage Workers’ Livelihood Index, which is an indicator of the retail price movements in Istanbul, increased by 3.46 percent in June compared to the previous month, and the Wholesale Price Index, which reflects the wholesale price movements, increased by 4.32 percent. recorded.

When the said data are analyzed on an annual basis, the rate of change was 55.19 percent in retail and 64.27 percent in wholesale prices.

Change rates on a sectoral basis
In retail prices in June, compared to the previous month, 6.99 percent in culture, education and entertainment expenditures, 5.11 percent in transportation and communication expenditures, 3.75 percent in housing expenditures, 3.39 percent in household goods expenditures, 3.37 percent in food expenditures, and clothing expenditures. There was a 3.20 percent increase in health and personal care expenditures, a 0.08 percent increase in health and personal care expenditures, and a 0.85 percent decrease in other expenditures group.

In wholesale prices in June, compared to the previous month, 8.36 percent in the fuel and energy group, 5.71 percent in the construction materials group, 4.21 percent in the unprocessed materials group, 3.93 percent in the foodstuffs group, 3.30 percent in the textile group, and mines. 2.21 percent increase in the group, a 1.36 percent decrease in the chemical substances group.
