Critical revision in US growth data

In the third reading for the first quarter, the growth data in the USA was revised from 1.4 percent to 2 percent.

While the expectations that the Fed will accelerate in the tightening path brought along the recession concerns, the revision to the growth data in the USA showed that the momentum in the economy continued.

In the US, the growth data for the first quarter was revised to 2 percent in the third reading. In the previous measurement, it was determined that the economy grew by 1.4 percent in the first quarter.

Other data on macroeconomic indicators were also revised.

Personal spending was revised from 3.8 percent to 4.2 percent, the GDP price index was revised from 4.2 percent to 4.1 percent, and the core PCE was revised from 5 percent to 4.9 percent.
